Tragic Workplace Accident Claims Life at Killyclogher Primary School in Omagh |
Emergency services respond to fatal incident involving landscaping machinery |
Emergency services were called to the scene of a sudden death in the Old Mountfield Road area of Killyclogher, Omagh, on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred on the grounds of Killyclogher Primary School and involved landscaping machinery.
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and paramedics from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) responded promptly.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) also attended, deploying three fire appliances, including a specialist rescue team.
A spokesperson for the NIAS stated they received a call at 8:54 am reporting a road traffic collision.
They dispatched one emergency ambulance crew and the charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board.
However, no one was transported from the scene.
The PSNI confirmed that the Health and Safety Executive has been informed, and investigations are ongoing.
NIFRS reported that firefighters assisted NIAS personnel in safely moving the casualty and left the scene at 10:08 am.
The community of Omagh is deeply saddened by this tragic event.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation. |
