Nu Delhi Restaurant & Lounge Triumphs at ARTA 2025, Elevating Belfast's Culinary Scene |
South Belfast's Nu Delhi becomes Northern Ireland's first 'Champion of Champions' at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards. |
Nu Delhi Restaurant & Lounge has etched its name in history by clinching the prestigious 'Champion of Champions' title at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2025, held at London's Hilton Park Lane.
This landmark achievement marks the first time a Northern Irish establishment has secured this national accolade, underscoring Belfast's burgeoning reputation as a culinary hotspot.
Adding to their accolades, Nu Delhi also retained the 'Regional Restaurant of the Year' award for the fourth consecutive year, a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence.
Nazim Din, the proud owner of Nu Delhi, expressed his elation: "We are truly honoured and overjoyed. To be the first Northern Ireland restaurant to achieve this national recognition is a proud moment for our entire team."
Head Chef Mahabir Singh emphasized their dedication to authentic flavors with a creative touch, while Manager Mostafa credited their loyal customers for driving them to be the best every single day.
The ARTA 2025 ceremony was a grand affair, attended by esteemed restaurateurs, MPs, and celebrities, celebrating the rich tapestry of Asian cuisine in the UK.
Nu Delhi's triumph is a beacon of inspiration for Belfast's dynamic food scene, which has witnessed remarkable growth and innovation in recent years.
In July 2025, the city welcomed HALT, a vibrant street food market at the former Europa Buscentre, featuring local favorites like Bodega Bagels. This initiative, part of the Weavers Cross regeneration scheme, aims to rejuvenate the city center and create up to 40 jobs.
October 2025 saw the return of Belfast Restaurant Week, a celebration of local culinary talent and Northern Irish produce, with over 50 restaurants participating in exclusive menus and collaborative pop-ups.
Furthermore, the Metro Menu campaign crowned Belfast's favorite food and drink venues, with establishments like Stereo and Mourne Seafood Bar receiving public acclaim.
These developments, coupled with Nu Delhi's historic win, highlight Belfast's evolution into a gastronomic destination, blending tradition with innovation to offer a rich and diverse culinary experience.
As the city continues to embrace its food culture, both locals and visitors can look forward to an ever-expanding array of flavors and dining experiences that reflect Belfast's unique character and heritage. |
