Human Remains Found on Prestwick Beach Linked to Northern Ireland Body

On the morning of Tuesday, June 10, a leg, still clad in a sock and shoe, was found washed ashore on Prestwick Beach. Police Scotland confirmed that the remains have been identified as belonging to a missing person from outside Scotland. Approximately three weeks prior, on May 21, the body of a man was discovered on the beach in the Donaghadee Road area of Millisle, County Down. DUP MLA Stephen Dunne remarked, "Millisle is a tight-knit community, and there is understandably a great deal of concern locally after what has been a distressing week for the village."
