Fermanagh Fun Farm: A Community Hub for Family Fun and Inclusion

Discover the heart warming experiences and community initiatives at Fermanagh Fun Farm in Lisbellaw.

Nestled on the outskirts of Lisbellaw, Fermanagh Fun Farm has become a cherished destination for families and community members seeking interactive and educational experiences with animals.

Established in July 2019 by former primary school teacher Alan Potters, the farm was created to fill a void in County Fermanagh, which previously lacked a fun farm attraction.

Alan's vision was to provide a space where visitors could engage with animals in a hands-on environment while also offering opportunities for adults with disabilities to develop new skills in a real-life setting.

As a social enterprise, Fermanagh Fun Farm reinvests all profits back into the farm to enhance facilities and support community projects.

The farm is home to over 100 rescued and adopted animals across more than 20 species, including donkeys, miniature horses, alpacas, and meerkats.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as feeding animals, petting small animals, grooming and walking ponies, and exploring both indoor and outdoor play areas.

The on-site café and gift shop provide additional amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit for all.

One of the farm's standout features is its commitment to inclusivity. In December 2023, Fermanagh Fun Farm received the Welcome Award from Positive Futures, recognising its inclusive attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

The farm has been praised for creating memorable experiences for all visitors, ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and valued.

The farm also hosts a range of seasonal events that have become highlights in the local calendar. In October 2024, the Freaky Fun Farm event offered a Halloween experience filled with fun, laughter, and prizes.

Activities included a pumpkin patch, creepy carnival games, and spooky shows, providing entertainment for the entire family.

Additionally, the farm collaborates with local organisations to host community events. For instance, in September 2024, Fermanagh Fun Farm partnered with Killadeas Day Centre to provide weekly coffee mornings, offering service users the opportunity to gain life skills in a real-life working environment while reducing isolation in the local area.

Looking ahead, the farm continues to expand its offerings. In June 2025, over 20 adults with disabilities are set to graduate with their Level 1 Occupational Studies Award, a testament to the farm's dedication to providing meaningful opportunities for skill development and community integration.

This milestone reflects the farm's ongoing commitment to supporting individuals with additional needs and fostering a sense of belonging within the community.

For those interested in visiting, Fermanagh Fun Farm is located at 4 Slate Quarry Lane, Lisbellaw, BT94 5EE.

The farm is open to the public, with no need for pre-booking unless attending a special event. Admission prices are affordable, and the farm offers various packages for group bookings, birthday parties, and school trips.

To stay updated on upcoming events and activities, visitors can follow the farm on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, or visit their official website at www.fermanaghfunfarm.com.

For inquiries, the farm can be contacted at 02866385060 or via email at fermanaghopenfarm@hotmail.com.

Fermanagh Fun Farm stands as a beacon of community spirit, offering a unique blend of fun, education, and inclusivity.

Whether you're looking to spend a day with friendly animals, participate in engaging activities, or support a social enterprise dedicated to making a positive impact, Fermanagh Fun Farm provides an experience that resonates with visitors of all ages.
